Unboxing: Secret - Secret Summer (Soompi Shop)

Posted by Kim

To be honest, I had no idea Soompi even had a shop until I came across this CD. Basically, I was trying to look up the difference between the two CD versions and then found a link to the Soompi Shop, where you could order the CD and it would then be signed by the girls! There were only 300 sets available and since the price honestly wasn't that high, I went for it. I chose option B, not really for any particular reason, and was told it would take approximately two weeks after the end of the sales period for the CD to be shipped out (after all, they need to get them signed, shipped to them, etc). It took about three weeks between me ordering and them shipping it out (with International Registered Airmail). I was a bit nervous, because it took quite some time for them to confirm my order, but I think the confirmation simply means that they have it? I'm not sure. Anyway, the ordering processes wasn't too difficult and for the payment option I chose Paypal.

The package! Speaks for itself. It was thicker than I had thought it would be, though.

And that's why: the CD was wrapped in a lot of bubble wrap. But this was a good thing, as you'll see later on.

My first thought here was: where are the signatures? Because I have no patience and it never occurred to me that the cover might not be the best place for them, since all the pink is raised text/raised images. I like the case, though. Very summery and very Secret. :)

I then flipped open the case and there they were! ♥ Plus a bunch of other stuff I'll show later, but yay, it's really been signed by them all! :) I wish I knew which signature was whose, but I'll have to look that up. XD

The back of the case. And yes, that's the CD right there. Which explains the excessive amount of bubble wrap.

Upon further inspection inside the case, I found these two pictures. They're both made of completely different material and one feels more like a sticker, but I haven't tried to see if it is yet. >.>

Underneath these pictures were thick photo cards (for lack of a better term), with this one at the top. They're so gorgeous!

I then flipped this photo over and noticed there were lyrics on the back!

This was on the back of the previous picture. It's the same for all the following ones.

I was a tad confused at this, until I flipped it over...

...and it turned out to be a cardboard frame! You can place one of the large photo cards inside. :)

A group photo card and a Hyosung POP gift card. I've had to google what on earth this card is, and it seems fairly similar to the Suica card in Japan: you can use it for transportation and in some shops. Either way, it has Hyosung on it (my favourite Secret lady), so I'm not complaining. :)

And the credits! This is a thick cardboard with the CD stuck to the other side.

My opinion on the CD: one of their best! Although Secret are my favourite girl group, I don't like their cute concept as much (well, with exceptions; some of the cutesy songs I absolutely love). Not that I think they shouldn't do cute, but I prefer this. The first song is Feel the Secret (INTRO). I never really know what to say about intros, but it's a fitting one for the CD. I'm in Love is one of my favourite Secret songs already. I love seriously everything about it: the slow start, how it suddenly picks up the pace, their voices, the use of instruments; everything. One thing that made me really happy was Hana's rap, because I had missed her rapping a lot. Look at Me is then suddenly very different, but I do really like it. It reminds me of another song, but I can't for the life of me recall which one. Either way, I love the beat and the bridge with the violin. I enjoyed Hana's rap a lot in this too! The next song, U R Fired, is my favourite from this album. I honestly can't find anything in this song I don't absolutely love, from the theme to the beat to the vocals. More of this, please. ♥ On the other hand, I like 잘할 텐데 a little less. I don't dislike it, but I'll probably need to listen to it more to fully appreciate it (I'm liking it more than I did at first). The last song is the instrumental version of I'm in Love. Don't really have anything to say about that, but, as I said, I liked the instruments in this song, so I don't mind having this included at all.
