Unboxing: AJ Magazine (CDJapan)
Posted by Kim
I used to order from CDJapan loads, but due to packages getting stuck in customs and then having to pay a lot to get them away from there, I've mostly stopped using them except for cheaper items. And this magazine was one! I was tempted to order it from YesAsia, but didn't want to add extra things for free shipping, and since I still had some points on CDJapan (you get points when you order from them, for your birthday, sometimes for events or just because, and you can use these points to lower the amount you pay), I decided to use their shop once more. For shipping, I chose SAL, because it was the cheapest option. And, honestly, it didn't take that long for this magazine to arrive! It was shipped on the eleventh, and although I can't tell you the exact date it arrived (I was away at the time), it was here by the 20th at the latest.
CDJapan sell, as the name suggest, Japanese items. However, unlike the name, this is not limited to CDs: magazines, books, clothes, figures; if it was made in Japan, chances are it's on there. They take various payment methods, but I tend to stick to Paypal and credit card. In this case I chose my credit card, since it meant the money wouldn't be taken out until after shipping. In fact, it still hasn't been, so I'm curious how long it takes them to do so.
The packaging! CDJapan tend to use these types of boxes, always with exactly the same form attached to it, so it's easy to tell when something you've ordered from there has arrived. Oh, a warning: they really love tape, so make sure you have something sharp to open it up. Unless you have ultra-human strength, in which case: go you!
Well, this came out a lot blurrier than I intended. Anyway, once I opened the box, I was greeted by this: the magazine in bubble wrap and a packing slip on top. This simply tells you what's in the box.
I then went to grab the magazine and... it was taped to the box! Probably to keep it safe from moving about too much, but I was a bit surprised anyway. This tape was easier to loosen, though.
Front cover! Honestly, I don't actually know who these two guys are, but I was pretty excited to see that, apart from B.A.P, GOT7 were also in the magazine. I bought it because of the B.A.P previews, but this was a nice extra. :)
Since I'm sure everyone has already seen the scans, I've only taken a few (terrible) pictures. Group shot!
The photos that killed the fandom. Oh, and note that there's also a brief description of each member on the pages as well. In Japanese, of course, so it's not much help for me, but it's there!
And GOT7. They didn't get many pages, unfortunately...
As for the magazine: it's alright. I was expecting more, but it was an impulse buy; I should've waited for scans or more previews. :P Not that the pictures aren't nice, of course, I was just hoping for too much, haha. XD It's of good quality, too: the pages are quite thick and the cover even more so. Overall, I can't say I'm actually dissatisfied with this purchase.
