Unboxing: B.A.P - Warrior Begins, Secret - Secret Summer (YesAsia)

Posted by Kim

I caved and got the other version of Secret Summer, option A, which I added to my Warrior Begins order later (thank you, YesAsia, for doing so without complaint!). And I was in for a big surprise. As is often the case, the order was shipped a few days before the release date, which is done with the intention of getting it to you on the day. Since I chose free shipping, I didn't expect this to be the case, but apparently the weight of the DVD (2 kilograms!!) meant that YesAsia used UPS instead of airmail. Imagine my shock when I suddenly received a tracking number from UPS, and even better: when the DVD arrived three days later, only one day after the release date! And all this without any extra charges. Well done!

This order included: B.A.P's Warrior Begins DVD, the limited edition, and Secret's Secret Summer Type A.

The box may not look that big, but it is. And heavy.

And inside! I laughed a little when I saw it was a FedEx box.

Never stingy with bubble wrap. :P But I'm getting closer!

At last!! Secret's album is about the size of a DVD case, so imagine how big B.A.P's DVD must be.

Of course I immediately focused on the DVD. This is the back, with a free sticker.

And the front. I will forever love that Matoki.

On its side! Includes the DVD and a thick photo book. And yes, my finger is resting on the item.

The sticker! Not sure what to do with it yet, but I like it.

When I removed everything from the box, it was of course in the wrong order. Anyway, this is the back of the part that contains the DVD. I really love how the design is kind of edgy, something you'd expect from a rock/metal band, perhaps, and then there's the bunny. XD As you can see, it includes the first letters of their names and shows what B.A.P stands for (literally).

And the front. How to be cute and cool at once?

Upon opening it, there were two little flyers of sorts inside. The one on the right is simply for the DVD, the one on the left means you can get a premium DVD! Place the corner of this coupon on a photo card together with the corner of a No Mercy coupon and send it off! Since it seems to be limited to Japan only, I sent both coupons (I still had a No Mercy one) to Visual Shoxx and asked them to help me out. The premium DVD won't be sent off until December, so I'll update on that later.

Tracklist on the left, DVDs on the right! One contains the concert, the other the making-of of the tour and a reaction of B.A.P themselves.

Back of the photo book. The red is very shiny. XD

And the front. :)

Since the photo book has many, many pages, here's an impression. I'm sure there are proper scans out there somewhere. XD Worth a look!

Wow, blurrier than I intended. Anyway, that's the other side of it. Huge, right?

My opinion on the DVD: it's amazing. I can say from first-hand experience that these boys know how to put on a show, and what I especially love here is that they have special stages. One of my favourite parts is where Himchan narrates a poem, which seemlessly moves into Yongguk performing part of I Remember. Daehyun takes over, being beautifully emotional before he introduces Voice Message through acting, which leads to Zelo rapping his part. Youngjae and Daehyun appear next, singing their bits and slaying as usual, before the lights turn down to introduce Jongup and Zelo, who dance until the music dies down and Himchan appears, finishing his poem. I've completely destroyed this performance with my words, but I promise you it's such a good performance! And of course the rock versions are amazing and just... everything, to be honest. They're a live group, you can tell. The making-of DVD was fun to watch, but what I loved most about the second DVD was the reaction bit. You have the guys watching part of the concert DVD and commenting on each other and themselves. I barely knew what was going on half the time, but it was funny. XD (And how to misunderstand Daehyun's "OPPA!" anyway.) And it's one of those things I've often wondered while watching DVDs: what did the others think when they saw this person blow a kiss or do a little shimmy, etc.

The photo book is worth the money too. Good quality pictures, with equal attention to all the members. I don't know if it's still available, but if so: go for it!

This version of Secret's CD was signed as well. It also included the polaroid picture.

Hi, girls! This picture is the same as the one included with the other version.

Individual pictures are all different, though. :) Gorgeous still! The backs show the lyrics again, but since they're the same as for the other version, I haven't included them. The only difference is that in this version, they're blue.

Again a stand to put a picture in.

This, too, is the same as for the other version.

I received a Sunhwa card for this version and another Hyosung POP card (which I later traded for a Jieun card).

My opinion on the CD can be found here, at the bottom.
