Unboxing: Got 7 - Got It? (Kpoptown)
Posted by Kim
I've ordered from Kpoptown many times before, but realised perhaps not everyone has. So I thought I'd do an unboxing of my latest order from their shop, which also serves as a review of Kpoptown itself. As the name suggests: Kpoptown sells Kpop items. I usually pay by Paypal and choose the cheapest shipping (no tracking), unless I have some more money to spare, then I get the second cheapest (with tracking). In the case of this particular CD I chose the cheapest option. I placed my order on 17 August and the CD was shipped on the 20th. Since I've been away since the 21st and only returned today, I can't tell you how many days it took to get here precisely, but it wasn't long.
If it fits, they use this packaging: a bubble envelope in yellowish colour, always with your and their address on it. Pretty straight-forward.
Upon opening the package, I was faced with this: the CD wrapped in more bubble wrap. It's enough to keep your items safe, trust me. :)
And the CD itself! Still in its plastic, but at least you can see it properly now. :P It's quite big and probably won't fit with my other CDs very well, but I'm used to that by now (Kpop artists like odd designs).
And the CD out of its plastic. My first thought was: what the hell is that black tag?! Answer: it tells you what CD it is, what songs are on it, etc. It also serves to actually pull the CD open, because the top of the case completely covers the rest and unless you want to risk breaking it, it's best to use the tag. So don't try to remove it either; there's a reason it's there!
What I saw when I opened the case. It's fairly simple: white felt on the inside, and of course the rest of the stuff (aka, the CD). It's not as flashy as the outside, but that makes it better: the packaging catches the attention enough as it is. :P
And what you actually want! The silver circle from the previous photo is the booklet, with the track list, lyrics (and who wrote it, produced it, etc), pictures of all the members (some in the background to accompany the lyrics, but they all also each get two individual pages with one head shot and one individual shot, plus three group pictures), thank-you messages, and a list of staff. It also includes one photo card (I got Yugyeom; the back only says 'GOT7') and of course the CD itself. I've included pictures of the booklet below in case you're curious, although I usually prefer to be surprised. :) Click through to see the full size! (Warning: pictures are huge.)
My opinion on the CD: it might need more than one listen for you to fall in love with it. 여보세요 was a bit odd to me at first, and although it's still not my favourite song, I do like it. I honestly didn't like Girls Girls Girls when I first heard it, but after a few more listens I got used to it and eventually it ended up quite high on my list. :) 난 니가 좋아 is probably not for everyone, and I do need to be in the mood to listen to it. 따라와 is a more cheery song and I especially love JB's voice in it (but I adore his voice in general, really). Like Oh is my favourite GOT7 song so far. Seriously. Love at first listen and I tend to put it on repeat, because it's just that good. If you're not sure how you feel about them - like I wasn't - then this is the song to go to, in my opinion. I don't know. I just love it. Yes. Playground is the last song on the CD and is calmer than the rest, and very lovely.
I actually only got into them very recently and have my friend Julia to thank for that: she loves GOT7 and after watching the MVs for Girls Girls Girls and A plus dance practice videos, I soon had a thing for JB. Not just because he's gorgeous (let's ignore his age for a minute), but also because of his voice, as I said above. So I decided I had to try them more, with this as a result! That's not to say I don't like the rest of them too, of course, because I do.
As for Kpoptown: I'd recommend using them, although they can take a while with shipping sometimes. It depends, really, because sometimes they ship the next day. They're generally alright, though. :)
